They weren’t told that he needed to be fed and all the care he needed like in the first room he had. He had complained of chest pains to the nurse and the nurse instantly went and called an ambulance, and then he was taken to the hospital and he’s been in there the past week. On the first side, the staff was really good. They were very friendly and they took care of him and they fed him and they told me what he ate and how his day was going. On the other side, he got very little care.
They were doing activities during the pandemic, things like hall bingo, connecting with all the residents, and they did well for being in the middle of a pandemic. Now she is able to go to the dining room, she is able to join in the activities if she wishes. She loves bingo, and so they play a lot of that. She is also the resident council president. I can’t say enough about the Chalet of Niles. I think they are very professional, caring, and loving human beings.
You’re more than likely to have a roommate. Different hallways would have bingos and things like that. They will take every penny that you have to your name. They will take everything, and they give you $30 to play with for a month. That is standard nursing home law currently.
It was great, but it was just really confined. They had more cameras than a casino in there. Their staff was more hands on, and food was always brought to you.
